An excellent Paul Young Parabolic 17 fly rod, 8'6" 2-piece, 2-tip and listed as serial #2144. Marked "Paul H Young Co Det" 3 flats left from the wrap flat. 2 sides left "Parabolic 17 8'6" 5.47 0z GBG GBF". One flat left "Fer 17/64 tip top 5/64". And just below stripper on wrap flat "#2144". The rod has chrome snake guides, a chrome stripper, and light brown wraps. It's 17/64 ferrule is an original super Z with the super Z die stamp and is oxidized black along with the males. The varnish is very good. The 13 1/2" half wells grip is lightly soiled. The all-cork reel seat is mortised and has an oxidized pocket cap and ring. The pocket cap is die stamped "Paul H Young Co, Detroit-Mich" in the cartouche. Please note: there are two angled slash marks in the cane on the wrap flat just below the serial number on the butt. One of these has caused a crack line to show in the varnish so there may be some movement in that facet. In addition, there is a short seam and an edge chip just in front of the grip. Other than that the rod is straight, good to go, and has the original bag and tube.
