Label: Elite III by Luba. The designer, Luba Marks, was a Bulgarian-born French-American fashion designer of Russian descent in the 1950s-70s. Prior to entering the world of fashion, Luba (under the name Lubov Roudenko) was the youngest soloist for the Ballet Russe de Monte Carlo in the late 1930s and early 40s and had also performed on Broadway throughout the 40s. During her dancing years, Luba was also the subject of several drawings by Henri Matisse. Four of his portrait sketches of her are now in the Fogg Museum. Luba reached the height of recognition in the fashion world when she was awarded the Coty Award in 1968.
Excellent vintage condition. A couple of small flaws to note: Small pink marks near buttons. Small smudge on collar. A few tiny specks on back neck. See photos.
