This truly mesmerising vintage 1920's tissue silk embroidered kimono, rendered in the softest shade of cream and embellished with intricate silk floral embroidery, is a rare and intricate piece to behold. 

The classic kimono cut is framed by rectangle kimono sleeves with arm openings along each top. The front of the kimono is embellished with simple trialing floral embroidery along either side and along either side of the rectangular cut sleeves. The back of the robe features extensive and intricate floral embroidery in silk threads that trail across the shoulder line and along the length. Finished with a matching cream silk belt, which is embellished with simple floral embroidery along each side, setting off the silk knotted fringing along each extremity. The kimono is fully lined in matching cream silk and features soft wadding along each hemline and cuff.

Closures:  a silk matching belt

Condition: This vintage kimono is in good vintage condition but not perfect. A small pin sized age mark next to the embroidery along one of the extremities of the belt. An age mark along the front right hand side of the kimono next to the base of the rectangular lapel ( where you would cross over the kimono). A light linear gas mark along the top of the right hand sleeve. A very small scattering of small pin sized age marks along the front left hand side of the kimono at waist height ( these would be concealed by the waist belt) A small age mark near the hemline along the front left hand side, near the base of the embroidered green stem. A very faint age mark along the front left hand side of the kimono near the edge of the left hand side lapel. A larger age mark along the top of the left hand side sleeve. A few scattered age marks within the vast floral embroidery along the back of the kimono. These are well concealed by the floral patterns and only apparent under closer inspection.Please refer to the photographs as they form part of the condition report.
