Does the clear coat provide UV protection, or will the carbon weave yellow over time?

The protective clear coat is applied at the factory and rated for UV exposure. It will preserve the weave color and finish under normal sunlight. If your vehicle sits in direct sun long-term, periodic wax or UV-resistant sealant will maintain the appearance longer.

Should I seal the panel edges where the carbon is exposed?

Yes. The edges where carbon fiber is cut are prone to moisture absorption. Before installation, sand lightly and apply epoxy edge sealer or automotive clear coat to the exposed edges. This prevents water infiltration and extends panel lifespan.

Can I repaint this, or do I need to work with the existing clear coat?

The factory clear coat is designed as a protective base. You can wet-sand and apply your own color coat directly over it, or strip the clear and start fresh. If painting, lightly sand the surface with fine-grit paper and use an automotive primer before your color coat for best adhesion.
