This 1950s vintage wiggle dress comes with a matching jacket - a dressy outfit in a rich buttery print! The dress is a simple fitted sheath with cap sleeves and bateau neckline in front that dips to a modest vee in the back. The jacket is collarless, with modified dolman 3/4 length sleeves - this jacket style was sometimes called a "popover". The overall effect is very ladylike but with an undercurrent of va va voom!

FABRIC/COLORS: Lightweight lustrous fabric, similar to what we used to call "whipped cream" back in the day, but a tiny bit heavier. Based on a fiber burn test, I believe it's acrylic. The swirling print is lovely, done in butter yellow, maize gold, and cream. It's reminiscent of marbled paper with a hint of exotic feathers. The jacket is lined in lightweight silky cream fabric.

TAGS: No tags at all, it looks like it was custom sewn, at a very good skill level.

CLOSURES: The dress closes with a metal sideseam zipper. The jacket has four self-fabric buttons down the front.

CONDITION: There is a faint crease at the bottom of the skirt where the hem was taken up about 3" by a former owner and then let down again. No other issues were noted, no stains, holes, or tears.
