About Chevron Beads:

Chevron beads were invented in the late 1400s by Maria Valoverra in Murano, Italy. While Venetian glass bead techniques are rooted in ancient methods, the Chevron technique is unique to Venice. Some Chevron beads have as many as ten layers. Blue is the most common color, while red, green, and black are rarer and more valuable. Chevron beads, also known as star beads or rosetta beads, were later produced in the Netherlands. The name "Chevron" refers to the zigzag pattern characteristic of these beads.
