I love vintage lingerie for many reasons, one of them being how seamlessly these underpinnings transition to being worn out, since they're so well made. This half slip was made by lingerie brand Deena in the early 70's, in a gorgeous red Chantilly style floral lace. The lace is backed by mesh, which makes it less sheer, and perfect for wearing out with a bodysuit or a pair of chic satin briefs underneath, à la 1990s Dolce & Gabbana. It also works layered under a sheer dress, or as a glamorous swim coverup. There is an additional scalloped panel of lace at the hem which is un-backed and totally sheer, and I love this added detail, as it allows the beauty of the lace to be fully appreciated. The waist is fully elastic, so it fits a variety of sizes.
