“The First Barber" and the second most important man in the world: the man who keeps the President looking sharp. Sixteen years ago, Barack Obama walked into Zariff’s Hyde Park barbershop in Chicago, Illinois to ask the barber for a trim. Obama liked that cut, and from US Senator to President of The United States, he’s stuck with his man ever since.
The Zariff features a tri-color, white with narrow red and blue striped pattern. The shirt is made with our signature cutaway collar and the 120 thread count made famous by our Mother of Pearl Classics. Part of our Barbershop collection, the Zariff celebrates both the man in the spotlight and the countless others working behind the scenes who helped him become the person he is today.
Egyptian cotton is a particular variety that is grown in only a few other places. It is renowned as some of the best in the world. It has an extra long staple, which means it has longer fibers, resulting in a silkier, more durable fabric. Poplin, sometimes called broadcloth, is a plain weave which means the threads alternately cross over and then under each other. This results in a very smooth and durable fabric that has an almost silky hand feel, particularly with higher thread counts. Also, poplins look very crisp when ironed.
