What is High Loft Fleece?

Polartec High Loft has the largest warmth to weight ratio of all Polartec fleeces.  This is accomplished by trapping warm body heat within the air pockets between the lofted fibers.  The yarns themselves are hydrophobic so they do not absorb moisture, making a fleece that allows moisture vapour to escape during exertion and will dry quickly when washed/wet.  High Loft has a very soft hand and begs to be made into cozy garments or blankets/throws.  There are many different styles within the High Loft category.  Most of them have a nap so care should be taken during pattern placement to ensure the nap is going in the same direction in all pieces.

Extreme Warmth style 4230 is used in their "Re-tool Snap-T"!
