A rare true vintage early 1940s hand crocheted hat in what I call a volcano shape.
This is a true period piece and not a new reproduction.

These were made from crochet booklets along with matching purses.
This one is heavy cotton gimp yarn in a cream and light rust shade.
It has a turned up brim, high pointed crown and two turned up pieces in the back.

The crown is meant to be pushed in.
It is not a cloche to pull down!!

It just sits on top of your head, as shown in the photos

This little hat is soft and forms the shape when worn.

In excellent condition. No stains or damage.
I added a photo from my 1940s crochet booklet for hats and bags.

These are not that common to find. One of my favorites!
