Do I need to weld this or can it be clamped?

This is a bare tube — you'll need to TIG or MIG weld it into your exhaust system. Clamping alone won't seal or hold properly under exhaust heat and pressure.

Does this need paint or coating before I install it?

Raw steel will rust quickly in a hot exhaust environment. Apply high-temp paint, ceramic coating, or wrap before final installation to protect the tubing.
