Polartec PowerShield Pro was designed to enhance the strength and performance abilities of Polartec's original soft shell technology (power Shield) even further. By re-engineering the 3-layer fabric, they developed an even stronger balance between warmth and breathability while drastically increasing the inherent ability to repel water, wind and snow.  Add to this a microporous membrane that easily vents excess heat and moisture vapour and you have an incredibly functional soft shell.

The Polartec Wind bloc ( block ) styles featured on this page are extremely similar to Power Shield Pro, with the exception of style 66022, which is fleece on both sides. They are classified by Polartec as "weather protection" and feature a woven polyester face fabric with a DWR treatment, a microporous breathable membrane and a micro velour fleece grid back. Because of these similarities, they are listed together on this page. If you are looking for a midweight softshell fabric any of the styles on this page are suitable. Power Shield Pro Midweight is one 'step' warmer than Power Shield Pro Lightweight.  The backside of these styles feature either a micro-velour grid, a low pile velour (maroon/black back only) or power dry (black 6672).  This weight makes an ideal spring or fall jacket in our Canadian West Coast climate.
