Polartec® Alpha Direct is a next-generation active insulation fabric designed to deliver warmth that adapts to your body in motion. Originally developed for high-output outdoor use, its open, lofted knit structure regulates temperature by releasing excess heat while retaining warmth when you slow down. Unlike traditional insulated fabrics, Alpha Direct requires no lining or backing, resulting in a lightweight, breathable, and highly efficient layer.

Hydrophobic fibers help it dry quickly and maintain performance even when damp, making it well-suited for variable conditions. Depending on weight, Alpha Direct is commonly used for ultralight hoodies, breathable jackets, midlayers, pullovers, pants, and accessories. Our 60gsm option offers feather-light warmth with exceptional airflow, while the 90gsm weight provides added insulation without sacrificing breathability. Designed to be worn on its own or layered under a shell, Alpha Direct balances performance and comfort in a way few fabrics can.
