A classic RAF-issued chronograph from the legendary “Fab Four” series, built for precision and service use, c.1974
Cabot Watch Company (CWC) supplied chronographs to the British military during the 1970s and 1980s, including a group now nicknamed the “Fab Four” by collectors. This refers to four closely related RAF-issued chronographs made by CWC, Precista, Newmark and Hamilton, all sharing similar designs and Valjoux movements. Issued to Royal Air Force personnel, these watches were built for precision and durability, and today remain highly regarded as classic British military tool watches.
What's on Offer
A superb example of a CWC RAF-issued chronograph, this “Fab Four” reference 6BB/924-3306 represents one of the most collectible chapters in British military watchmaking. Produced for Royal Air Force personnel, it features the unmistakable asymmetrical case with twin pushers and a highly legible chronograph layout built for precise timing.
The matte black dial has aged beautifully, with warm patina developing across the lume plots and hands, adding depth and character without compromising legibility. The circled “T” (denoting tritium lume) and Broad Arrow reinforce its military specification, while the layout remains clean, purposeful, and instantly recognisable.
Powered by the robust Valjoux 7733 manual-wind chronograph movement, this watch delivers both reliability and mechanical charm, with a healthy 45-hour power reserve. The stainless steel case shows honest service wear, entirely in keeping with its issued nature.
Fitted to a NATO style strap, it wears exactly as intended—functional, comfortable, and ready for daily use. A true RAF tool watch with undeniable presence, provenance, and collectability.
