Hopper is a beginner-friendly pull-on trouser with a stylish kick flare and plenty of personality. With an elasticated waistband and two playful pocket options, it’s a fun and versatile pattern for everyday wear.

Option A features heart-shaped patch pockets for a bold, sweet look. Option B includes faux welt pockets for a more classic finish. Super comfortable and easy to sew, Hopper is a great introduction to sewing with stretch fabrics.

Size range: Age 3/4 to 13/14

Fabric Suggestions: Medium weight stretch fabrics with no less than 20% stretch. Ponte Roma, French terry/loop back jersey or 8oz stretch denim are ideal. Cotton based jerseys would also give the trouser a legging feel.

Hopper is a pull on trouser designed for stretch fabrics. There is an elasticated waist, so we would recommend choosing your size based on your height and hip measurement. Pay close attention to the finished inside leg measurement, as you may need to add or take away some length.

You will also need:

• 25mm wide non-roll elastic (see chart in images)
• Approx 25cm stretch interfacing. We recommend H609
• Matching thread
