About Dzi Beads (Chong Dzi Beads):

Dzi Beads are ancient beads originating from Tibet. Similar to Etched Carnelian, these beads are designed by baking natural dyes into agate to create patterns. It is believed they were made around the 1st to 6th century AD. However, the components of the dyes used remain partly unexplained, adding to their mystery. Though primarily found in Tibet, they have also been discovered in Bhutan, Ladakh, and other Himalayan regions. Each pattern is said to have different meanings, with the "eye" pattern being particularly popular. In Tibet, they are considered amulets of wealth and prosperity, passed down through generations. Recently, they have gained popularity in China under the name "Tian Zhu," with many replicas also produced using similar techniques, but the ancient Dzi Beads remain exceedingly rare.
