1950s 60s Black Summer Dress by Smart Miss of Miami. Bust 40. VFG straight skirt. sleeveless.

In research, the Smart Miss Of Miami Label was made from the 50s through the 60s, and this dress could fit either decade, but I am leaning toward 60s.

FEATURES:

Well made garment- I did a fiber burn test to identify fabric; It has a textured weave/nub appearance which is probably most noticeable in the first photo. I will make so more photos and hopefully be able to capture better detail. It was self extinguishing and left an open ash, but I couldn't conclude it was silk. I was thinking a mercerized cotton or linen.

Well made garment with pinked seams, seam and hem tape.

Sleeveless dress with round neckline.

Interesting pleats from shoulders down to side of bust and sides for fit.

Skirt front has slight pleating with flat backside.

Straight skirt with enclosed kick pleat.

Stripe of fabric with pointed end down front of dress, accented with large leather/vinyl buttons. One button has dented.

Back metal zipper marked FLA. Hook/eye fastener.

Belt loops but original belt not included. I will included belt shown which can be used as is or change belting if you wish.

Other than dented button, this dress is over all in great condition. Zipper works fine, hems appear intact. Clean.
