The skirts arrive bare carbon. Applying clear coat is strongly recommended to protect against UV fading and maintain the weave finish over time. Sand and prep the surface before applying your chosen automotive clear coat.

Should I seal the edges where the carbon meets the body?

Yes. Where the skirt edges meet your door or rocker line, a small bead of urethane trim adhesive or flexible sealant prevents moisture and road debris from getting trapped between the panel and the body. This keeps the carbon dry and extends its life.

Will the grid pattern show dirt easily?

The recessed grid will collect fine dust and road film like any textured surface. A quick rinse during regular wash cycles keeps it clean. If you prefer a smoother finish for maintenance ease, you can lightly sand and fill the pattern before clear coating, though that modifies the aesthetic.
