The t-shirt features 1970s soul band, The Detroit Spinners. Still touring in 2012, this long-running vocal group experienced their greatest successes in the 1970s, after many years as a recording act. Indeed, in their early years they were mainly jobbing employees of the Motown label; often found working as managers, chauffeurs or chaperones to the Divas signed to the label, as & when required. Things changed in 1972 with their signing to Atlantic Records. Their first top-ten hit ‘I’ll Be Around’ soon followed. It seems their years of recording experience had paid off. Their collaboration with Dionne Warwick on ‘Then Came You’ in 1974 resulted in a number 1 hit on the Billboard Hot 100. They still tour the nostalgia circuit, appealing to their old fans with the hits they are famous for; unforgettable songs such as ‘Working My Way Back To You’ & ‘Cupid’.
