This antique Edwardian blouse was made around 1907, and it's truly a masterpiece — it is SO rare to find pieces like these in such great condition. This blouse is made of superfine ivory linen, with whitework embroidery throughout, depicting bows and leaf sprays — an absolute classic Edwardian motif. There is lace embroidery at the collar, and the sleeves and bodice are joined together by openwork lace. The sleeves' hem is a gorgeous, delicate lace. This blouse has a cropped fit, hitting at the waist, and the sleeves are about half-length. It closes in the back, with 7 buttons down the back, and a hook and eye closure at the waist. Some of the lower buttons could also be worn open for a looser fit. This piece was the originally the property of an important socialite in the American south, and was made as a part of her "Grand European Tour Wardrobe" in 1907.
Measurements:
Bust: 36"
Waist: 24" at bottom opening (note that the bottom buttons in the back can be worn open for a less restrictive fit)
Sleeves: 12"
Length: 16"
Great antique condition. There is a small pinhole on the front middle, which sort of disappears in the lace eyelet pattern, and thus is not noticeable. On the lower back, there is a small marking. (All things considered, it is in amazing condition, as it's rare to find these Edwardian blouses in a wearable condition at all.)
