Product Description: This is a strand of Etched Carnelian Beads.
Note: As this is an antique item, it may have scratches, cracks, or chips.
Era: 2500 BCE to 1800 BCE
Originating from the Indus Valley Civilization, these carnelian beads feature patterns created using a natron solution derived from plants. These patterns were then baked at low temperatures of around 300 to 400 degrees Celsius. While such beads have also been excavated from sites in Mesopotamia and Afghanistan, it is believed that those made in the Indus Valley were transported via land and sea routes.
