Rendered in a classic silhouette, this beautiful 1950's Ceil Chapman dress, in a watercolour floral palette in shades of green, blush grey and brown, set against a cream background, is the perfect piece to add to your vintage collection. 

The rounded neckline, is framed by a matching silk piped edge and slim silk shoulder straps. The strapless cut, sets off the fitted bodice, which is accented by gathered and draped pleats, which radiate along either side of the bust-line, and gather along the left hand side of the waistline. The lower part of the bodice is boned, creating internal structure to set off the beautiful pleated accents, whilst showcasing the pleats along the top of the hipline. The cinched in waistline, draws the eye to the draped pleats along the left hand side of the skirt-line, which create the illusion of a front sash, which also mimics the design of a cross over cut.  An iconic style rendered in a classic Ceil Chapman Pleated Silhouette.

This dress is fully lined in cream rayon.

Measurements Of The Dress

Armpit to Armpit: up to 34 inches

Shoulder to Hem: 38.5 inches

Waist: up to 24 inches

Hips: up to 36 inches

Condition: This dress is in restored vintage condition. There is a patch mend along the left hand side armpit and one along the right. These have been done sympathetically in matching fabric and conceal areas of wear to the silk. The original sleeves of the dress have been removed and replaced with silk shoulder straps in matching silk. The straps are lined in bias binding to add to the stability and structure. These constructional changes have been doing to restore the dress as the original sleeves were split and damaged. This piece has been restored sympathetically and is still in very wearable condition. Fastenings: This dress fastens at the back with a 17.5 inch plastic zip, a hook and loop
