This plant was originally from the southern tip of South America, collected by the Spanish and Portuguese in the 17th Century and then brought back to Europe. The hydrosol is an amazing room or linen spray. Safety note: Lemon verbena topically will cause skin irritation when exposed to the sun so should be used in rinse off products or for products that are not left on the skin when one is in sunshine.
