Etched Carnelian beads were created by applying patterns with natron liquid extracted from plants and baking them at low temperatures of around 300 to 400 degrees Celsius. These beads have been excavated from various sites in Mesopotamia and Afghanistan, but it is believed that they were originally produced in the Indus Valley region and transported via land and sea routes.
