This 40s dress originally had a large yoke of black netting, framed by the band of black crepe that still encircles the neck creating a vee in front. Net is often fragile, and only fragments remain in the neckline seams. But the dress is still quite wearable as-is, and perhaps sexier than before. The bodice has very short raglan sleeves that are cuffed at outer edge of the shirred and padded shoulders. The bodice is shaped by being gathered into the center row of buttons, extending into a peplum that is shortest in center front, then curves around the swingy skirt on both sides before disappearing into the two back skirt seams.

SIZE: No size label. The bodice is longer waisted than usual - if there is more decolletage than you want, you can take a small tuck in the halter-type strap around the neck, as I did for one of the photos.

CLOSURES: The dresses closes in front with thirteen self-fabric domed shank buttons with fabric loops, with a sturdy black enameled hook & eye at the top.

CONDITION: Long-gone-missing upper bodice netting, as discussed above. The small firm shoulder pads were coming loose - I have reattached them. No other issues noted - no stains, holes or tears to main fabric of dress.
