Product Description: This exquisite strand features 42 Chevron beads, known for their distinct multi-layered craftsmanship. Measuring 76cm in length, these beads are primarily sized at 16mm x 10mm. Please note, as these are antique items, they may have some scratches, cracks, or chips.
Chevron beads, also known as star beads or rosetta, were invented in the late 1400s by Maria Valovaire on the island of Murano, Italy. Unlike other Venetian bead-making techniques that adapt ancient methods, the Chevron technique is uniquely Venetian. Chevron beads have been found with up to 10 layers, predominantly in blue, though red, green, and black variants are rare and highly prized. Production of Chevron beads later extended to the Netherlands. The term "Chevron" refers to their characteristic V-shaped pattern.
